Eco Committee

Term 3 and 4

Eco-committee are delighted to welcome a new member, Matthew Laidlaw. He is our first Primary 7 for quite a while.

We will continue with this year’s targets and add

-introduction of owl boxes to the eco-garden. We are aware that owls are being displaced by the removal of old barns and out buildings.

-reduce, re-use and recycle

We are continuing to reward adherence to the term’s targets

(marbles and prize box).

Term 1 and 2 2017/18

Eco-Committee will continue with the same members. We have decide that Term 2 is going to be extremely busy with our school Christmas Pantomime. We will keep three targets going.

  1. Litter Picking
  2. Switching off lights when not in use
  3. Check around

We are enjoying our Eco Schools Journey.

Term 4

The Journey to Green Flag Renewal

We have been working hard for Green Flag Renewal.

Meeting  7 February 2017

The Eco Committee had a meeting today. Heather took the minutes.

  • We need to renew our Green Flag.
  • The date for renewal is 1st April 2017
  • We will need to collect evidence to support our renewal application.
  • We will link this renewal to our topic, Strathgarve.
  • We need to involve the whole school and the local community.

We sorted out and organised past information for Eco Schools. We decided that we will start our renewal with an environmental review. This will begin on Tuesday the 14th of February.

We don’t have a flag pole but everyone agreed that we should display our green flag and certificate as a wall display. We are very proud of being green flag holders.
